Apex Continuum welcomes affiliation with our guild by those who share the same values as do our members-at-large. However, to be perfectly fair to our regular members, who have devoted themselves to Apex as their primary guild, the Board of Directors has decided to create a separate category for affiliates with a number of minor restrictions as follows:
Affiliates will have access to all Apex forums and sites, with the exception of those which contain sensitive information or operational details as determined by the Board of Directors.
Affiliates will be eligible for promotion only through the rank of Statutory Agent. This is primarily because of restrictions placed by RSI on affiliate membership which does not allow affiliates to be assigned any roles within the guild.
Affiliates may read polls conducted by Apex leadership but will not receive a vote.
Affiliates will receive access to all Apex facilities, with the exception of rooms or operating bases which may be of a sensitive nature as determined by the Board of Directors.
When accessing Apex facilities, Affiliates will pay market rate for goods and services rather than the discounted membership rate.
Affiliates are welcome to join in all guild activities, both within Star Citizen as well as outside games, and will share equally in rewards in accordance with guild policies. However, certain activities such as classified military operations, intelligence gathering, or other similar operations, may be restricted to "members-only" by the Board of Directors.
Affiliates are required to make visible their main guild membership on the RSI site, in order to prevent the inadvertent recruitment of players who belong to a guild with values or policies in contravention to our Codex.
Affiliates are required to make visible their Apex Continuum affiliation on the RSI site, in order to prevent our guild being party to inadvertently recruiting members from a primary guild which may be "exclusive" in nature.
Affiliates will not count towards the Apex membership cap.
Exceptions to the policy may be made for affiliates who are members of a household (or close relatives) of a current Apex member. Other exceptions may be made on a case by case basis on appeal by the affiliate to the Board of Directors.
Update: By decision of the Corporate Council and the Board of Directors, with concurrence by the General Membership, as of July 9th 2014 Apex Continuum is no longer accepting new Affiliate Members, with the exceptions as listed above. Current Affiliate members of Apex will not be affected by this modification to our policy.
